Description
The first magic encounter with “Costa Verde” (green coast). Along the coastal road you’ll admire a wonderful landscape, basalt rocks and, finally, a long and broad beach that leads to the next one, Torre dei Corsari. High sand dunes with Mediterranean scrub and some junipers give an evocative aspect and many perfumes to the place.
Pistis is a small seaside resort, very appreciated by fishermen.
Among the sand dunes you can discover “La Casa del Poeta” (the poet’s house), a beautiful centuries-old juniper transformed in a romantic summer getaway by Efisio Sanna, a former miner, and his life partner Orlanda Sassu, poets for passion. A haven of peace not easy to distinguish from the rest of the Mediterranean scrub.
This picturesque building attracts and captures the imagination transporting the visitor into a fairytale world. The mighty juniper rises and tangles up on itself and creates walls and ceiling with its branches and leaves. Messages written by the poets or by the visitors are posted here.

Beach features
Dunes of coarse-grained golden sand; sea slopes down rather rapidly.
Please note that the sea of the “Costa Verde” is often shaken by Mistral, with strong currents and high waves. When the sea is particularly rough, caution and good common sense are necessary.
Services
There are bathing facilities;
a bazaar/kiosk with bar, a restaurant, newspapers, cigarettes and a toilet and a shower with a fee:
rental of pedal boats, canoes and windsurfs:
parking lots with a fee in summer and a small free hard court parking on a slope.
Some services are limited to some specific seasonal periods.
Directions
From Oristano, head south following the directions to Santa Giusta, then turn right at the end of Santa Giusta suburb continue to Arborea, go on route SP 49 for about 17 km, until you find and follow signs to Marceddì. At the end you’ll find a narrow bridge that you have to cross, then turn right after the bridge, following the directions to Sant’Antonio di Santadi. When you reach it, turn right just before the church and continue for about 4 km.
Please note that Marceddì bridge is narrow and not very long. In fact it is for fishermen’s use, and vehicles should not pass through it. Nevertheless, it is regularly used by residents and tourists because this passage can shorten the ride of about 20-30 km.
