Sa Mesa Longa


Description


One-kilometre long beach, surrounded by the cliffs of Capo Mannu Su Pallosu, which can be easily accesses from the beach along the paths surrounded by Mediterranean scrub.

A little rocky islands lies at around 100 m from the shore, which makes the landscape really particular. From the island a rocky line reaches out underneath the water, creating a sort of natural swimming pool where water is always very calm.

Wooden walkways facilitate the access to the beach.

Families with children and for those who love snorkelling, surfing, kite-surfing, scuba diving.

Beach features


Medium-grained sand; sea slopes down quite slowly.

Services


No bathing facilities;
a restaurant/bar on the west side of the beach and a bar on the opposite side;
two hard court parking lots, with fee in summer period.

Some services are limited to some specific seasonal periods.

Directions


From Oristano, head North following the route SS 292 towards Cuglieri. After about 13 km, turn left on route SP 10 towards Putzu Idu and continue for about 11 km. After arriving in Putzu Idu beach, proceed on the same road for another 1,5 km, at roundabout follow signs for Sa Mesa Longa.

Useful informations


Warning: no chance to buy magazines, newspapers, sun creams or any beach equipment on site, unless going to the nearest village, about 3 km away.

Possible difficulties with the mobile phone reception.
