Water Boarding and Sailing
This part of Sardinia is particularly windblown, especially by “Maestrale”, a strong North-westerly wind, and this makes it a real Paradise for sailors, windsurfers, kite surfers and surfers.
This is so true that every May, for the last two years, the "Open water challenge Oristano” takes place in Torregrande beach. This is an international event of contests in different water boarding specialties for amateurs and professionals.
There are many possibilities and facilities to play these sports in Torregrande and Putzu Idu beaches.
Windsurf: “Eolo Beach” sport centre in Torregrande/Naturawentura Kiosk in Putzu Idu: courses for all levels, from beginners to advanced and specialization and course for children; equipment rental. In Pistis beach only equipment rental.
Kite surf: Naturawentura Kiosk in Putzu Idu; courses and equipment rental.
S.U.P.: “Eolo Beach” sport centre in Torregrande/Naturawentura Kiosk in Putzu Idu: courses and equipment rental, fitness programme, several tours including going upstream the Tirso river.
Sailing: “Eolo Beach” sport centre in Torregrande organizes basic and complete sailing courses on catamaran and Laser sailboats, with the possibility of catamaran tours.
